St Regis Hotel San Francisco

st regis san franciscoThe St. Regis Hotel San Francisco is one of the newer hotels on the scene. This hotel is well situated near the Yerba Buena Gardens, the Museum of Modern Art and other cultural museums in downtown San Francisco.

This is just one of the great San Francisco luxury hotels that offers high end amenities including an on-site spa, complimentary fitness center with a lap pool and a couple of amazing restaurants. Butlers are also on staff to provide packing and unpacking assistance as well as making restaurant reservations for your stay.

Vitrine is one of the two restaurants at the St. Regis Hotel San Francisco. It serves both breakfast and lunch. Ame is the other on-site restaurant. It serves American cuisine and has one of the best wine selections in the city.

The top 20 floors of a 40 story building are dedicated to St. Regis Hotel visitors. The hotel also allows pets with a small pet deposit. Room rates vary by season and start at around $400 a night. They can range up to over $1,000 a night during the busier times of the year.


Mark Hopkins Hotel San Francisco

Another one of my favorite San Francisco luxury hotels is the Mark Hopkins Hotel San Francisco. This gorgeous hotel was built in 1926 and sits on the top of the hill in the famed Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.

The hotel has 16 floors of rooms including 382 standard rooms and 33 suites. Each room features premium televisions channels, video games and high speed internet access.

Other amenities include on-site child care, a 24 hour fitness center and access to a business center. Room service is also available 24 hours a day.

mark hopkins hotel san franciscoThe Top of the Mark restaurant and lounge is located on the 19th floor of the hotel. You can sip on your choice of one of 100 martinis on the menu as you gaze out at the beautiful San Francisco skyline.

In addition to that, the restaurant area serves up fresh California cuisine and has an impressive wine list.

Room rates vary, but start at around $200 a night during the slower season. Rates in the busier times of the year can range up to around $600+ a night.


Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco

Right across the street from the Mark Hopkins hotel is another popular hotel called the Fairmont Hotel. This hotel opened in 1907 and is rich in history. It was also recently remodeled in 2001.

Fairmont Hotel in San FranciscoEven if you don't get a chance to stay at this hotel, I'd highly recommend taking a look through their beautiful lobby. The decor is gorgeous from the ceiling to the floor.

The entire lobby is decorated in gold tones and other warm colors. The hotel also has a historical past.

The flags flying outside the hotel mark it as the location where the United Nations charter was drafted in 1954. The hotel features 591 gorgeous rooms. Each room has marble bathrooms, pillow top mattresses and luxurious linens.

Fairmont Hotel in San FranciscoThere is a full on-site spa. If you don't want to head down to the spa, they also offer in room massages. For those of you traveling for business, the hotel offers complimentary car service to the financial district every week day morning.

Hotel Vitale San Francisco

hotel vitale san franciscoAnother one of the new San Francisco luxury hotels is the Hotel Vitale San Francisco. This hotel is set along the beautiful Embarcadero waterfront near both the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge.

Located about a mile from Union Square, the hotel is 8 stories high and has 200 rooms. It features a fitness room and complimentary yoga classes. It also has a rooftop spa and outdoor terraces.

The rooms are great too. They all showcase premium linens and bathrooms with limestone. All rooms also have complimentary wireless internet access and, to keep things clean, offer housekeeping twice a day.

The on-site restaurant has a great bar with outdoor seating. It's also covered and heated on those chilly San Francisco nights.

Huntington Hotel San Francisco

Heading back up to the famed Nob Hill neighborhood, you will find another one of the great San Francisco luxury hotels, the Huntington Hotel San Francisco.

This gorgeous hotel is located about a half a mile from Union Square. It's just a few blocks from the Financial District and Chinatown in San Francisco.

It's also right along the California cable car line. The hotel has a number of amenities including complimentary car service daily from 8am to 4pm, an on-site spa and an indoor pool, spa tub and yoga studio.

The Big Four restaurant is also located in the hotel lobby. The large guest rooms feature a king bed and premium television channels. All of the guest rooms are also smoke free.

Rooms at the Huntington Hotel San Francisco vary by season. They start at around $200 a night and run up to around $500+ a night during busier times of the year.


Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

four seasons hotelThe Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is one of the San Francisco luxury hotels that is not to be missed. Centrally located on Market Street, this high end, luxury hotel is just a couple of blocks from Union Square.

Each room features floor to ceiling windows and work areas with large desks. The best part of the room is the bathroom. All offer marble décor, showers and soaking tubs for relaxing after a long day in the city.

You also have access to the Sports Club LA fitness center. It has an Olympic sized lap pool, two floors of cardio and weight machines, a relaxing spa and salon.

The Seasons restaurant and bar is located on the 5th floor of the hotel. The restaurant offers breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and dinner. You'll find American food with a great wine selection of both California and European wines.

The hotel also accepts one pet per room. Rates vary but range from around $350 to $3,000 a night.
