San Francisco Steakhouse Recommendations

• House of Prime Rib: One of the most popular steakhouses in San Francisco. The food is always amazing and it is a San Francisco favorite. The dress code is dressy and they are open every night of the week for dinner. The House of Prime Rib is located in Nob Hill at 1906 Van Ness Avenue, cross street is Jackson Street.


• Harris Restaurant: Another popular, high end San Francisco steakhouse is Harris Restaurant, also in Nob Hill. It's a little pricier than the House of Prime Rib, but the food is amazing. Harris is open Monday through Sunday for dinner and is at 2100 Van Ness Avenue, cross street is Pacific Avenue.


• Epic Roadhouse: One of the new kids on the block is the Epic Roadhouse. I recommend this for two reasons, they are located in a beautiful setting right along the water on the Embarcadero, near Folsom Street, and they also have amazing food. You might even be lucky enough to grab one of the tables outside, which is a rare find in San Francisco. Epic Roadhouse is open only for dinner Monday thru Friday. They are open for both lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.


• 5A5 Steak Lounge: If you are looking for one of the Best San Francisco restaurants for steak in the Financial District, then head over to 5A5 Steak Lounge. They created a modern spin to the traditional steakhouse, but the food is also amazing. 5A5 is open every night of the week for dinner.

French Restaurant San Francisco Recommendations

• La Folie: One of the most popular French Restaurants in San Francisco is La Folie. Located in the Nob Hill/Russian Hill area, this little bistro is a little pricey but the food is worth it. They are located at 2316 Polk Street, between Green Street and Union Street, and are open Monday thru Saturday nights for dinner.


• Jeanne D'arc: A little more casual and less expensive option for French food is Jeanne D'arc. Located in the heart of the action in Union Square, this French Bistro is situated on the first flow of the Cornell Hotel de France. It is open for dinner, Tuesday through Saturday.


• Restaurant Ducroix: Another one of the Best San Francisco restaurants for French food is Restaurant Ducroix. This popular and affordable restaurant is located in the Financial District at 690 Sacramento Street between Spring and Kearny Streets. It is open for lunch and dinner Monday thru Friday and dinner on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

Best San Francisco Restaurants - Chinese Restaurants

• House of Nanking: One of the best San Francisco restaurants for Chinese food is the House of Nanking. The food is great, but very reasonably priced for San Francisco. Don't be surprised to find a line outside waiting to get in. It's a small establishment and they also frequently sit more than one party at a table to fit in as many people as possible. You'll see the brightly colored sign at 919 Kearny Street, between Columbus Avenue and Jackson Street. They are open everyday for lunch and dinner.


• San Tung Chinese Restaurant: This recommendation is a little off the beaten path, but is one of the best San Francisco restaurants for Chinese food. It is a nice sized restaurant that is open for both lunch and dinner everyday of the week except Wednesday. It is located in the Inner Sunset at 1031 Irving Street between 11th and 12th Avenues. The easiest and cheapest way to get here is to take the Muni train to 9th Avenue and then walk the three blocks over to the restaurant.


• Z & Y Restaurant: My next recommendation is Z & Y Restaurant near Chinatown in San Francisco. This restaurant is another favorite of the locals and has great, but reasonable, Chinese food. They are open for both lunch and dinner everyday of the week. Z & Y is located at 655 Jackson Street in between Cooper Alley and Wentworth Place.
