San Francisco Discounts

Great Deals on Hotels, Flights, Rentals Cars, Passes & More

Here you can find some of the best San Francisco discounts for your upcoming trip. San Francisco is an expensive place, so saving a little money is key to keeping your budget in check. Below are a number of deals on hotels, flights, car rentals and more.

In addition to some of the discounts below, here are a few tips for saving money when booking your trip or any other trip in the future:

  1. Travel in the 'off' season: Not only can you save a little money in the off season, but you also won't have to deal with crowds as much. San Francisco has a number of great events all year long, but traveling in the cooler, rainy months from November to March (except New Years Eve) will save you a bundle.

  2. Travel mid-week: You can save on both hotels and flights when traveling mid-week. Even if you are able to book one leg of your flight on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, you can save on your overall airfare costs.

  3. Book flights as early as possible: As flights start to fill up, the cost for each seat increases. This should be the first thing you book for your trip, so you can get a decent rate. At times, there are last minute deals, but they usually have long layovers, additional connections or some other reason for the discount. Make sure you read the fine print and all the details before booking a last minute deal to ensure it meets your needs.

  4. Fly during 'slow' hours: You can also sometimes find better prices on flights that are really early in the morning or later in the evening. Business travelers do not always want to book these flights, so you might be able to get a decent deal on them.

  5. Book hotels & flights together: Many online travel companies give discounts when you book both your hotels and flights with them. The discount amount is highly variable. This is a great way to get some of the best San Francisco discounts.

San Francisco Discounts: Flights to San Francisco

There are three different airports near San Francisco. San Francisco International Airport, SFO, is just a few minutes south of the city and the closest one to San Francisco. Oakland Airport, OAK, is located across the bay bridge from the city and the Mineta San Jose Airport, SJC, is about an hour south.

Before booking any flights, make sure you review the pros and cons of flying into each airport. While you might find a great deal to one of them, you may spend more time and money trying to get to your destination than anticipated.

In addition to hotel deals, Orbitz also frequently publishes flight deals. Add in the city you are flying from and one of the three airports listed above. San Francisco Discounts & Cheap Car Rentals in San Francisco

Car Deals (125x125)

One of the ways to save money in San Francisco is to skip the car rental for most of your stay. If you are planning on heading out of the city for a day or two, you can rent a car for that day directly in the city instead of renting it at the airport for the entire time.

If you do plan on driving a little more, then renting a car at the airport is a great option. The timing of booking your car rental doesn't matter as much as flights, so you will want to watch out for some great deals.

CheapTickets.com is one of the best options for booking your rental car. They have weekly deals and you can save quite a bit on your rental. Some of the deals are for the entire week, while others are just for a few days. Learn more on their site: CheapTickets Car Rentals Tab
